Dashel is 7 Months Old - WOW!

Well July went by too fast (a lot of beach time) and now we are into August with Football practice in full swing and the students are back. Dashel had his 6 month appt. on August 1 and weighed in at 23.9# and 29". The doctor said he is doing lil more than an average 6 month old. The morning of the appt. he made his first move from laying on the floor to sitting upright by himself. 13 Days later we have a crawling little guy and boy does he move. We feel he will be walking within a couple months since his standing strength is so great. Emma is getting so excited for preschool to start. She will be going two half days a week and also be back in Dance!:0) She continues to ask me to have a meeting to go to or dinner so we can call her new babysitter to watch her and Dashel. There is a jealous factor between the two but Emma loves her brother. We will keep ya posted.

Catch up...It's already July?

Since APRIL we have had Easter festivities with Thomas jumping in the lake and into MAY we had Emma's dance recital(the pink custom was the cutiest), Dashel's Baptism(I was able to finish the sweater, hat and booties, but need to get a good picture of the whole ensemble) and a day at the Como Zoo. In JUNE Dashel has been falling asleep in the jumpers - just too much excitement. Swimming lessons for Emma in Aurora which brings back memories. Kayaking and first boat ride fun at Mummu and Papas. Rush City waterpark splashes - yeah the weather is finally warm. JULY has been a layed back 4th and a week in Ely enjoying the nice weather. We have finally been able to have a beach day at Fall Lake, a hike to Kawishiwi Falls and a visit from the zoomobile in Ely.

Dashel of course continues to grow. He is almost sitting up on his own, enjoying his tummy more and spins in circles for his toys. He is a very smiley and laughable lil guy. He is a joy to have around, but Emma is in for it!

Three Months - WOW!

Dashel is three months old and is growing like crazy. I'm sure he is about 18#++++++. We had to buy a new stroller because my arms can't handle carrying the carseat carrier around and he will be moved into a bigger carseat very shortly. Plus we will be on the move alot more with him since we have Emma too. He is wearing 9 month clothes and we are hoping he slows in that department when he starts moving more. Lately he is full of smiles, gurgling, cooing and occasionally screech. He is pretty vocal so we think he will a big talker like Emma??? Emma is patiently waiting to wear her pretty pink Easter dress and is wanting to only color pink Easter eggs. I've been very busy working on Dashel's baptism sweater and hopefully will get the hat and booties done also. Tom is getting excited about the semester coming to a close.

Two Months Old!!!

Dashel had his two month appointment on Monday March 21, weighing in at 15# 12oz. - 99% and height of 25 3/4" - 94%. I think he is going to be a big one. Emma also had to attend her Doctor's visit and completed her 4 year old shots with the loudest scream I have heard out of her. :) She made it through saying the first one didn't hurt - just the other two did that had the needle??? Cuz SHE SAW the NEEDLE on the last two!!! Dashel is finally sleeping about 6-8 hours at night with the help of formula and a lil cereal. :) Yeah to the extra sleep. Emma is doing good with the lil brother, but we are working on her problem with disturbing Dash when sleeping and some toys maybe disappearing? It was a nice week last week with a haircut, 1 1/2 hour massage and a two hour nap - thanks to a our great friend Crazy LuLu who watched the kids with her daughter. All is well in Ely, MN - just waiting for the warmer weather and some trails to open up!

Dashel Arrived

Dashel was born on 1-19-11 with a linebacker weight of 10# 14oz. and length of 22 1/2". He had amazing strength with his head and was able to hold it up and the ability to turn it from side to side. He is another blessing from God. Emma really enjoys him... at times... and other times she wants him brought back to the nursery. So far so good but the lil guy loves to eat every two-three hours.

January Has Arrived!!!

And we are waiting..... From today we only have about a week to the due date 1/11/11...Can he wait that long? Christmas came and went very quickly. And I even got all my lil projects done before and have had time to complete a couple more in the last couple days. We will keep you updated over the next couple weeks with emails, phone calls and text.... yes text this time around. Happy New Year!

Fall is here and Winter is coming!

It has been busy with football schedules and working part-time. Tom team didn't have a very good year so we won't even mention the outcome:(. There is always next year and they did have a well behaved group who were out for the fun of the game. Emma had a great time with Halloween and I even found a trick to get her not to ask for so much candy... "you will turn into a monster if you eat too much." I don't think it will work next year.

We have had a busy year!!!

Jen finally graduated in December 2009 with an RN degree. Tom continues to work at Vermilion Commnity College in Ely and Emma Jean (3 1/2+) keeps growing, learning and talking -talking-talking. She is about 38# and 39 1/2" tall. In April we had a couple of blessings - WE SOLD THE HOUSE!!! and our new arrival was conceived!:) We have a due date of January 11, 2011. So we have been enjoying the summer and adapting to the new life in Ely MN which will be a change but much needed and the new little one will make the change a little more exciting. Jen continues to grow and is working very casual as a RN in Hibbing, so the extra time can be spent with Emma and family. Tom is already into a busy fall coaching the VCC football team which has been a good group of players.

Happy New Year!!!

January is here and time is flying by. Emma is almost TWO. It is amazing the things that she is picking up on and saying. We really have to watch our mouths. She really got into CHRISTMAS and pointed out SANTA all of the time. We are working on her manners and potty training(which she really doesn't want anything to do with). We are able to use the gym at the college, so we are working on some BASKETBALL moves. She loves going to the games. It has been a fun year with her and we are looking forward to 2009 - she will be a flower girl in her cousin's wedding this July, so we are hoping she will have a little more hair and be a good girl for the day.

I'm back in school - I finally did get into the RN program last minute - so there is light at the end of the tunnel. Hope it goes by quick, which I'm sure it will. Tom is up in Ely working at Vermilion Community College and was offered the Assistant Football coaching position and is looking forward to the fall.

November - She is almost 21 Months.

She continues to grow and make us smile. She has such a personality and loves to laugh. She is saying a lot of words and really understands what we say and ask of her. Attitudes do flare up at times and some worst than others, but overall she is a very good lil' girl. Not sure on the height and weight but she is bigger and keeps filling her clothes out.

18 Months Old

She had her check up and was 27#, 32 1/2 inches tall and holding strong in the 95th percentile. She is a tall girl. She is continues to make us smile. Talking with more new words and understanding when you tell her to so something. She is even a help and puts things back in there place.
Well we have change going on in the house hold again. Tom recieved news this weekend that he was offered a job in Ely at VCC - Yes so we will be moving. He starts in a week and a half. We put the house up for sale and will keep our fingers crossed that it will sell. I have been doing lots of painting and touch ups. Now to start packing, but it is a good way to clean out.
I will cont. to stay in Duluth until I can get work in Ely. I have a job at the Vent care Center - part-time until work is found up north. I plan on cont. the RN program, but now it will involve a little more driving. We feel that this is a great move for us financially esp. if we plan on having a little sibling in the future. Keep your fingers crossed and prayers going out to us. I will keep you posted.

My Blog List

Sorry so LONG!!!!

This is for you Jill. Just a quick update from the four months. Emma is busy talking and running. Yes running - running away from mommy and daddy and thinking that it is funny. She is good at cawing like a crow, since we had a nest in the yard and they entertain her while she eats. She has quite a personality and sense of humor. They grow way to fast. We will be heading up north this weekend with hopes of getting her into the water and maybe even see Jared.

Well my first part of school is done - I passed with all A's and one B. I've been busy this summer also with two online classes and will be taking the boards July 30th - so pray for me.

She's ONE!

Unbelievable how time flys... She was such a tiny little baby not so long ago. Emma was 23# 3 oz. and 30inches at her last appt. She is walking, trying to talk and showing us a little attitude. Yes she is walking.....she started moving full throttle on her birthday. Now she thinks she is pretty cool. Now we are in transition with getting rid of the bottle and I think it can be gone, but daddy thinks we should have it around to be safe. :) Still very busy with school - it is actually busier this semester then last. I need the spring break and can't wait until summer. Hopefully I will be able to update in a couple of months.

Nine Months Old

She has been on the move - investigating everything. Also is pulling self up, walking around furniture and is so close to standing on her own. She is now 22 1/2# and 29 inches tall - 95 and 91 percentile. Very sorry it has been so long on the update school has been very busy - I'm doing well and only three weeks until break - We all need a rest. So FYI..... There may not be a x-mas card, but I will be working on a New Year's card. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Seven Months Old

Emma is still growing. She is 20.5# and 27 inches long and on the move. She has been on her hands and knees - rocking away. We have to baby proof the house. She has been saying da-da-da of course, smiling alot more, laughing/giggling and eating anything. I have even put her on the potty a few times which is one less diaper for mommy to change. This is a little late getting out but we/I have been busy with going back to school. I started the LPN program on August 27th and will continue to RN with hopes of completion in 2 years. So I have been busy finishing projects around the house and spending time with Emma. I will try to get an update in a couple of months - who knows she will probably be walking. :)

Four Months Old

Emma had her four month shots and check-up on the 18th of June. She was 17# and 26 inches long. When she isn't grabbing her feet she is making music with her lips. Everything is going into her mouth and finally has worked her thumb in there for short periods of time. Just this past weekend Emma and mommy took a road trip to Detroit Lakes to visit my friend, Jill, from Las Vegas. She enjoyed her first boat ride sticking her tongue out to test the air. We worked it so she was sleeping most of the trip otherwise she was very content and a good traveler. I never seem to catch Emma with a lot of smiles with the camera, but she has been smiling a lot more over the last 2-3 weeks. She is a very happy with a lot more smiles this month - she smile with her eyes. Very content baby and is always letting things sink in that little brain. I feel that she is a little on the lazy side - she did roll from her tummy to her back - and now hasn't done it again. Very happy just laying on her back talking to herself. Those vocal cords work - I think Tom wishes thatshe would be that quiet little baby again - but I tell her it is never going to stop now. She finally has been sleeping through the night from about 8 - 8:30p.m. to 6:30- 7 a.m. She may wake up once to have her nuk put back in and falls to sleep instantly. We can't wait to get up to grandma's and papa's to test the water this weekend and sure enough they are predicting it to be only in the 70's. :( But we will test the water with her. We have to get some use out of her sun hats and swim suits - so stay posted for pictures. We will be spending the 4th at home - I believe that the grandsparents will be with us and we will enjoy the fireworks over the Bayfront that evening. Happy Fourth to All.

Three Months Old

Emma is rolling to her right side. When she is awake she talks and trys to use her voice. She has been smiling alot more and is grasping onto objects. Right now she is at Grandma and Grandpa's in Rush City for the last couple days and we are anxious to get her back. Tom's sister is in from New York and is seeing her for the first time. I will be going down to get her in the morning and attend Tom's neices graduation from pharmacy school. Emma starts daycare next week for three days a week. Mom has off on Mondays and Grandma will have her on Fridays. We are finally realizing how fast they grow and how quiet the house is when they are away. I have been busy putting the 5th coat of royal blue paint on the book shelf Grandpa Larry made and organizing our garage sale for next weekends city wide sale.

Update

I will have some more pictures of the baptism and post the desert recipe in the near future. Carol if you see this I will also try to get pictures of the quilts and would like to which pattern you use for your shirt teddy bears. jsaari@cmjt.net

Baptism

Emma will be getting baptized Sunday the 22 up north. We choose Uncle Jason and Aunt Merri for the sponsors. Also there will be a shower on the Saturday prior so there will be some more new pictures soon.

Two Months Old

Emma had her first set of shots this week. It is not an easy thing to go through for Emma and also Mommy. She weighed in at 13# 8oz. and 23 inches long. She is getting big and as Great-Grandma would say "She is 'fat' or she is 'chubby'." Her smiles are starting to show. She has been make more sounds and is able to grasp unto some smaller toys. Emma has been sleeping about 6 hours at night and is going back and forth between formula and breastmilk. Mommy went back to work this week. Three days a week for two weeks and then to four days a week. We will be jumping her between family and friends to keep her out of daycare until about 13 weeks.
